It's been a few months since I've done a blog post, it has been a pretty hectic end to the year. Although the weddings have slowed I've been working hard on the editing while I've increased my days working during the week as it comes to a busy time in the accounting calendar. This means I've been pretty much editing nearly every hour I'm home. I'm currently working 3 days a week, I've been dedicating a day a week to spending time with my grandaughter but between weddings I've had one full day a week to devote to editing. This isn't enough so as soon as I'm in from work I've been editing until 10pm most nights of the week.
I delivered my last wedding on Xmas Eve which was quite nice timing for Cat & Sean, I now only have my 3 December weddings left to edit now and with no Wedding until March I'll be up to date by the end of January. During this slow period I'll be increasing my working days to 4 it's at times like these I'm so grateful to be able to increase my days and reduce them in the summer for weddings. I also have a few corporate headshot jobs in January which will ensure I'm still busy! The level of bookings and the huge seasonality of the work means I think it's unlikely I'll ever be able to go completely full time, but this hybrid version is a good compromise and I'm really happy.
This year really has been a blur, time has gone so quickly, but it's been amazing. A final tally of 28 weddings plus other work and pre weds for most of these weddings have ensured it's been full and varied. I've had some new venues this year and some I know well, I think Singleton Lodge is still my most visited venue. I've also been back to the incredible Ashton Memorial again and added Peckforton Castle! I've had a couple of weddings south of Birmingham and both on beautiful days. I'm really very fortunate to remain local to Chorley for the vast majority of my weddings with the registry office, Shaw Hill, Park Hall, Bartle Hall, Beeston Manor, Farington Lodge , Glendower Hotel all on this years list. The staff at these venues are incredible and work tirelessly behind the scenes on your wedding days to make sure you have the greatest day possible.
So currently for next year I have 22 booked already with plenty of opportunity to increase this as we reach the busy booking season. Some new venues as well, Sefton Palm House, Glass House at Staining twice in a week, Clock Tower in Clitheroe and some favourites Singleton Lodge three times and twice in two days, Shaw Hill, Beeston Manor & Bartle Hall once again and the lovely River Barn! Pre wed meetings for these will be starting in February so the quiet times never last for long.
A massive thank you to all my couples from 2024 I hope you have an amazing 2025, and to my couples for 2025 you'll be making some amazing memories very soon!
